CHANNEL 4 - CYBER BULLIES FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT

ransom note

For those of you who don't know, British celebrity Joe Lycett appeared on his social media recently stating that if former footballer David Beckham ceased his role as an ambassador for the Qatar world cup, he would donate £10,000 to charity.

If Beckham refused, Lycett would shred the money.

Beckham did not respond at all.

True(ish) to his word, Lycett appeared again on social media shredding the cash.

In these times of hardship for many households the stunt did not go down well with the public.

A few days later it was revealed the whole thing had been a big set up for a Channel 4 TV show - a documentary on Lycett's little spat with David Beckham - he hadn't really shredded the money - it was all fake - oh what a hoot!

Now, let's just back up a bit - Joe Lycett, working for broadcasting giant Channel 4 - demanded that David Beckham quit his job, or they would deliberately destroy £10,000 which could have been donated to good causes.

So, Channel 4, do you think it's acceptable to blackmail people? Is it entertaining to troll people on the internet? I don't think so.

I'm pretty sure Beckhams charitable donations dwarf those of Joe Lycett - and yes, I'm sure there are tax benefits for Beckham too, but that's another article - so he won't be losing any sleep over this, but my point is with this stunt the channel as an organisation, and their employee, look a bit nasty to me.
